Using Voice over IP, Euro Alert makes it possible to network several control centers with one another. Every workstation in such a system can benefit from the full functionality of every other station in the control center network. Technical and organizational requirements – such as the need to link several control centers together for operational reasons or for one center to take the role of another during the night – can be satisfied with extreme flexibility, guaranteeing the best possible system resilience. The technical operation of the backup center is entirely independent of the presence of dispatchers on site – making it a very welcome solution even for very small or unmanned emergency response systems.
