How does WTG SBC work?

The Session Border Controller manages the creation, execution and disconnection of voice and media streams transmitted using SIP. The controller checks the sessions taking place across the border between two IP networks. It permits only authorized sessions between your business and its provider.

WTG SBC is deployed as an interface between router or firewall and your internal telephony infrastructure – usually your central telecommunications system. Where your telecommunications system is based in the cloud, WTG SBC is deployed as a separate component, adjusted appropriately depending on the specific solution you are using. WTG SBC gets around network configuration difficulties and connection problems due to the presence of a firewall.
